Coach Vela is beginning his 16^th year of coaching, his 7th year at Clear Brook. After high school, he played football at the University of Arizona before transferring back to Texas. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas State University.  Coach Vela began his coaching career Pearland Jr. High West and also coached at Pearland High School for 6 years before becoming a Wolverine. In 2010 Coach Vela was a part of the State Championship Pearland Oilers. Coach Vela has been married to his wife Samantha for 9 years. They have 2 children, Benjamin and Charlee. In his free time, Coach Vela enjoys working out, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
